I really can’t think of many things that bring me more joy than watching a one year old taste, play in, and make a total mess out of a delicious cake. When that one year old also happens to be your nephew, it really makes for a great time. All morning long Luke’s siblings were so excited to see Luke smash into his cake that when it came time for the smash we really had to hold them back from getting involved. Before long we were joking about how fun it would be if a cake smash was a tradition for every birthday and not just your first. Which leads to my next point: Why aren’t cake smashes for every birthday?! Anyways, on to some pics. Here are some of my faves:)
Oh, by they way, did I mention that you can get a FREE cake smash added on to the end of your baby’s one year pictures? You just supply the cake. 🙂
Grady and I know this cute family from church- where this sweet mama and I spent a lot of time together as youth leaders for the girls. We had tons of fun photographing them in downtown Aiken as well as in a nearby field. I just love photographing little kids because their innocence makes for the most adorable pictures. You can tell exactly when they’re concerned, excited, confused, etc. which makes it so easy to capture all of their little expressions. Every parent wants to remember all of the details about their little ones and family photos are a great way to do just that. Here are some of my favorites from the Dickamore Family’s session. Enjoy!
We’ve really been going through our archives recently! This session is from last fall, but I’m still in love with the color combination that the Olsens wore for their family session. These photos were taken as part of our fall minis over a Big Spring Park. There are so many great locations for pictures there! We chose the steps by the waterfall for these. Here are a few of my favorites from the Olsen’s mini session:
Brendan’s mama took advantage of our spring mini sessions this year. It was our third time photographing this little guy and it’s so much fun to see how much he’s grown! I just love the shots of him and his mama. You can tell how much love these two have for each other!

Before we left South Carolina, we got to photograph Miss Macy’s newborns. We shot family pictures for Macy’s family last year and were so excited to see them again! It’s always so fun to see the little ones grow!

Shelby was one of our sweet newborn clients. She was so good for us and slept through most of her session. We even got a couple little baby smiles out of her! Here are a few of my favorite’s from this little girl’s session.
Adalyn’s aunt won our recent session giveaway and used the session for Miss Adalyn’s one year photos and cake smash. We had such a great time! What’s not to love about photographing the cutest little girl run around and smash in to a cake? It was really a great evening. Here are some of my favorites from that night.

We have known this sweet family for a little while now and were so excited to take their family pictures, especially since that meant we’d get to squeeze their newest little one! (Also seeing as how my maiden name is Brooks, how could they not be the best family ever?!) Here are some of my favorites from their session….
